Poll Question
Did any one else get a letter from United States Mint, Department of the Treasury, asking to take a survey? Once my baby goes to sleep I am going to check it out.

I voted yes.

I have had three of them in the past couple years. All after making a order,
getting a request for survey.

I have not received one recently, but have in the past. The last one was 31 January 2015. I always do them. It is like voting, you cannot complain unless you do it.

I keep away from things like that. First I'd call the Mint and ask if it is a real thing or something else.

They are for real. But feel free to verify yourself.

Glad to hear that. I'm always a bit scared when I get anything in the mail or on my answering machine that stipulates that I may have valuables.

I normally do not buy the new issues from the Mint but I did buy one set of the four Kennedy halves which I sold at the next coin club meeting after getting it for a $5.00 profit. So, I got the survey form and threw it away. No reason to fill it out and return it as I do not plan on buying anything else from them.

I recently was asked by Great Collections via email why I have not come back and sent a response stating too many details labeled coins to sort through and many of the coins I would have been interested in the opening bid was at or near full retail. I actually got a response from Ian stating they try to weed out the consignors of coins listed too high but no mention at all about all of the problem coins they have.

As well you should be.

These survey requests are legit now, but that can change. Someone might try to sneak a bad one past us. We should be ever vigilant.
