Well for starters the coin is neither AU nor does it have a nice color or nice surfaces as the seller describes. In my opinion the coin has VF details and has been harshly cleaned.I'd put the actual value of this coin around $250.

it's not much, if any, over a 35.

insofar as missing something, the only thing I see missing here is a fishing pole.

if the seller truly wanted to build a case for au territory, a reputable TPG slab would have definitely helped his/her cause.

I agree, the coin is VF20 at best, and probably cleaned.

A long, long way from AU+....

Wow... so it's now bid up roughly $1000 over actual value? Do these bidders know nothing of Heritage or Stack's or... a dozen other sources for such as this? What would possess anyone to pay that for such a coin? I don't get it.

you cannot count on any bids you see on anything on ebay, so much shilling going on it is ridiculous.

As my dad says there is a butt for every seat. Suckers born every second. People believe the sellers, and get incredibly ripped off. Lack of knowledge and education in coins.

Coin was apparently rejected from the original buyer last month when the coin sold for $580:
