From an inherited collection...it recently returned from PCGS. How would you grade it?

These type 2 coins are really tough to grade. I would think maybe AU-50. The marks on the left side of the obverse make me think it may have ended up in a details slab.

I think PCGS was tough on this one: PCGS VF Scratched

The scratches on the obverse going up from around 5pm and 6pm are pretty pronounced, although they don't stand out too much in this pic. But perhaps VF is unfair. The coin was actually graded at NGC before PCGS, and graded XF Scratched there. The regrade turned out not to be a wise decision I suppose.

I was thinking VF details myself before I scrolled down, those obverse scratches really do a number on the eye appeal on this coin, unfortunately.
