Hello Was over in the grading forum and saw the error/variety forum so wanted to ask a few questions in regards to above subject coin. First, I believe this a small date variety Is this true ? And secondly, does the mintmark look to be a possible variety also. The pics. are not as close as I wanted but the best I can do right now with my camera. Also, is the 1960 P mint small date variety more of a premium than the D mint. ? I read somewhere that this may be true. Thank's Image: 1960D1.jpg42.45 KB Image: 1960D2.jpg12.31 KB

Yes it is a small date. I also see some Machine Doubling, nothing of value. As far as premium, I do believe that the 1960-P is harder to find in a small date but has no real added value. Jim

Welcome!
The small date 1960 D is very common and does not command much of a premium , if any at all. The 1960 small date is a tougher one to find.

Hi
Thank's
I never saw a 1960 P small date before. This D was in my whitman folder. So it is rarer for the P mint but no real value. O.K.
Thank's again everyone.

The 2008 Red Book lists the 1960 large date and 1960-D Small & large dates as .30 in MS-65. The small date 1960 Philly cent in MS-65 as $7.00. So they are harder to find in the 1960 small date Philly mints.

You people are funny.
Roll bid for 1960 cents is as follows, at my last check (a few months ago):
1960P large date - $.95 1960P small date - $160.00 1960D large date - $1.10 1960D small date - $.95
Right...the 1960P small date doesn't have any real value...just the same value per COIN as the rest are for three or four ROLLS.

Chuck, you might want to add that the prices you quoted are for BU rolls and not the stuff that has been in circulation for 50 yrs. By the way, the last copy of the Gray Sheets I have (Aug) has them at $165 bid and $175 ask.
Merry Christmas Jim

Coppercoins, Did you mean to say the 1960P small date doesn't have any value?

j_h_s - My response was sarcastic. I stated above the roll bid values, and I said it was for rolls - assumably BU rolls.
The coins coming out of circulation - I have never found a 1960P small date in circulation - didn't even think of that.
