Hello..I'm back, after a long break! As of now my collection is by no means large, but I do have quite a few coins. Now, because they aren't of great value, It isn't worth it to me to buy individual coin holders.

So my question, do you have any tips on storing these coins? They are currently in wooden boxes, in my desk drawer. Hopefully over the holiday break I'll organize them :S

Thank you, Chris

Hi Chris

for most coins 2X2's and the red whitman boxes make organization and storage easy .

fairly inexpensive and adequate for most coins long or short term .

What about some tubes? You can keep them semi-organized and real accessible.

Those both sound like good ideas, I'll have to order some supplies soon.
Thank you for your suggestions.

So much depends on what your plans are. Do you want to see the coins easily? Do you just want to store them? Do you care about space? Are you interested in Albums? Just to many questions. Pending your likes and dislikes, I would suggest starting albums. There are a multitude of brands out there. Dansco is probably the best made, best looking, lately most popular and most expesive. Whitman used to be the only one in town but slowly being pushed out due to lousy workmanship, poor availability and who knows why. Littleton makes albums but not many like that company anymore. Never did either. If you put them all in 2x2's, then in a Whitman type Red or Black box as already noted. Then of course there are those plastic sheets with 20 slots per page for 2x2's that fit into a standard 3 ring binder.
All pending on your preferences.

I began doing the 2x2's for what I had ........ then put them in the "20 slot per page" notebook..... and that is really a neat way to display and store them..... but when I began buying bulk amounts of coins, 30 to 200 or so each time out........ well.........now I find myself with A LOT OF WORK TO DO !! I enjoy it when I have time, but now I too am looking for just storage and maybe just putting the "best ones" in the 3 ring binder notebooks.
