I got this cent from a bank coin roll. Is there anything I can clean it with? I don't want to risk messing it up so I figured I would ask first. It's a Wheat penny, date might end with 9? That's all I can get out of it.

White vinegar might remove the corrosion, but the damage is done. It looks pitted pretty bad, so you may not be able to improve it much.

Nothing you can do to it will make it better. Ones like this I put it in my penny jar and when it is full it gets wrapped with the rest of them and taken to the bank.
Rest in Peace

Just the other day I used some vinegar and H2O2 to pull dates off of 2 buffalos, and it worked great. Turned out I had a '20 and a '16-D.
When looking at your coin, I see 1919, a very common date that is nearly worthless. However, your guess is better than mine.

Yup, works on silver but creates major issues with copper.

But with this coin is that a real concern?
