probably 1951 and that mark parallel with the rim on the second picture makes me think it was done by the fingers of a coin rolling machine

PMD. Coin counting/wrapping machine damage or maybe a gumball type machine damage.

Pretty common during the 1940s and 1950s for this sort of damage to occur to a coin. Some say due to coin wrapping machines and others say parking meters. No matter which it's a damaged coin.

Here is a 1950-D with the 0 pushed sideways looking like a 1.

Interesting. Going through handfuls upon handfuls of 1920s-50s LWC recently I've noticed that effect. I did take a closer look at the first few thinking they could be something but came to a PMD conclusion
