Well, I just picked this up as a package on some coins that I wanted. I believe this thing is under graded in it's current holder, but would like some input from any of you gold or Liberty Head Double Eagle experts out there. Let me know what you think the grade should be on this gold coin. Also, I did not take these photos, they are the ones that were provided to me. Thank you.

I'm not a double eagle expert, but I have a nice collection of them, including two PCGS MS-63. This one seems a whisper away from MS-65, even 66, but I think the marks on Liberty's face might drop it to MS-64. The graders seem to be lenient on bag marks on double eagles, IMHO, but yours seems to have a cluster of marks in a prime focal area, whereas it is virtually mark-free elsewhere.
She's gorgeous! Enjoy her regardless of grade.

Wow, I'm thinking 64 at least, probably could make 65.

One thing you have going for you is that sharp crisp strike. I would be proud to own this coin. I would say MS65.

Your coin is near gem, it's probably in a 64 holder. Could get 65 or 65+ on an upgrade IMO.

Until the Saddle Ridge Hoard which added 100 coins to the top of the census for 1890-S this issue was almost impossible to find over MS62. Even now, it's a 5-figure coin in 64. I'm not sure what to think of this one. It's not a particularly excellent strike for a Double Eagle - there is hair detail missing, and the eagle's head lacks definition.
I think, based only on these images, I'd have to call it AU58 but that's not locked into stone.

The coin looks like it might be MS, but the photos have too much glare and lighting issues to grade from.

I'll post my own photos when I have it in hand. Until then, feel free to make a couple of assumptions. I'm just trying to get some gut reactions to the coin to help me formulate some ideas around how I want to handle it when it arrives.

It looks like it would be at least MS-64 to me.

This coin is attractive and has very few contact marks. However, I don't think it is mint state. Observe the original luster between the letters UNIT and ERIC on the reverse. Compare those areas with the surfaces of the fields below the eagle's wings. The fields have lost some luster which I would attribute to light friction from circulation. The obverse field in front of Liberty's face appears to show a similar but less obvious effect.
The lack of surface marks suggests this coin is premium quality but I'd still peg it as a circulated piece. AU-58.
