Here is one of the ten 1969 S Lincolns that I got for a steal the other day. You can see the staple damage on the obverse from another coin in a holder, but, still, a pretty nice coin.

What's a steal? This is a common date. It's not the doubled die if that is what you think. It has a value of around 20c in BU.

I think I see some Machine Doubling on the date. That is very common for that year. They don't normally have any added collector value and are very common, but I have seen them sell on ebay for close to $20.00

Yep, by rip-off artists taking advantage of the uneducated. Part of the reason 1969-S cents rolls skyrocketed in price since about 2007 is because these scammers are after the rolls for the crap they sell on ebay.

This is why using ebay to value coins can be misleading.

I don't think there are any RPM's for that year. Some of the mint marks are just sloppy. This is the worst one I have seen sell on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-S-1C-D...047675.l2557It shows that it sold for $1000.00 I hope the guy can get his money back and learns something from this.

I suspect in this case the seller and the buyer are one and the same - the buyer has no Feedback either. So why exactly is the coin here worth more than one cent? What am I missing? There's a little bit of a die chip in the mint mark, but that's the only thing I can see that is anomalous.

I don't see any reason to believe that it is worth more than one cent.

I recently went through a BU roll of these. I found five or six with heavy MD on the date and some mintmarks. Wow, $20 each! I wouldn't have the nerve to list them.... Maybe just an auction for 99 cents for those who have the interest in collecting these and know it is only MD.
I didn't find any RPM's. Is it just me or do others have difficulty looking for "S" RPM's? The "D"'s are fairly easy to spot.

All three examples I posted are to the west. You can see the spread in the centers of the mint marks. Although the spread is not all that strong, but it shows up on all areas of the mint mark and not on the date. So it is a listed RPM.

I have one to several rolls each of 1969-S/S 1c RPM#s 1, 2, 3 (CONECA), so whomever I purchased them from did good! I never get that lucky!

So, the 69 S's don't have added value? I thought it looked like there was some doubling on the date and a repunched mint mark, too. I'm just learning, so, feel free to elaborate!
