This was my first Morgan, I got it as a birthday present when I was 7 or 8. Nothing too special, except a very pronounced die crack or break in the date. I am not a VAM or Morgan specialist, so I cannot attribute it. Has anyone seen this before?

A good close up of the MM is key for '84-O. The die crack in the date may not be a "listed" feature and then there is the possibility that the listing for this die pairing may be an earlier die state.

I can see from your photos that this is a far date with an oval O mint mark set high and possibly set left, tilted left. Many of the listings do not report the mint mark location if it's an O/O.

Sorry for the delay, I've been working on a school project all weekend. Here are some scans of the coin.

Not much more to add as the new photos are better but still inconclusive.

Try focusing your camera through a loop with good lighting towards the edge of the coin softened w/ a single ply tissue to diffuse the light. Good pics are necesary for this sort of thing imo. Go to VAMworld and look at their pictures and compare your coin
