I've been doing it for almost 15 years and haven't got rich, yet. I'm still optimistic inspite of ebay's ever changing landscape and rules of engagement.
95% of the bad Buyers I've come across were in Europe and S Korea. They all magically claimed INR disputes since there was no online tracking available back then with USPS shipments. I solved that problem by no longer shipping internationally. (By the way, don't fall for the ebay "Global Shipping Program" trap as it still has coins and currency on it's restricted items list the last time I looked)
The 5% bad Buyers I had here in the US were just pretty much "bidiots" looking for free stuff by going with the all encompassing "item not as described" dispute and asking for a complete or partial "freefund" to "make things right". I usually just told them to send it back for a full refund and added them to the BBL. A lot of them I never heard from again and they didn't return the item.
You just have to do what works best for you and learn from your mistakes....and you WILL make mistakes!
Good luck!
