I've held on to a couple of these 99s myself. Still I'm pretty sure its nothing but old worn out dies.

No such thing as a repunched mintmark on any US coin after 1989.

I guess it's still there. I'm in Missouri packing my stuff. Not going back to Florida until the first week of January, and on that trip I'm staying.
