I was looking through my quarters which were in a bowl in my sock drawer before putting some of them in a coin jar so I could get them recirculated later when I stumbled on a 1983P and a 1984P both a year apart from the same mint but with possibly the same amount of minting errors on both sides of both coins.

I'm putting up the 1984P right now and will put up the 1983P later

Interesting thing about this coin is that there is a die chip in the P and also a possible strike through grease error in the wording In God We Trust device on the front and on the reverse you also have a die chip error in which the A's in Dollar and Quarter are filled in along with the last A in America is filled in and there also appears to be another strike through grease error along with a strike through wire on the left wing of the eagle.

and on top of that a wire error to boot. So now we have 3rd die state category we have EDS LDS and now SLDS. LOL just wait till you see the 1983P I'll be posting later it is probably the same die state but with a possible strike through error on the right wing. And how often do SLDS coins show up on the forum?

I Think it is VLDS but it is all semantics. It looks like PMD to me and just a very circulated coin. Not an error.

tweak the dark area on the wing partly conforms to the ventral wing feather detail of the upper left wing and forms a C prior to curling slightly upwards. It is just too fine to try to see from any other angle maybe it was a hair caught in the die and not a wire.

here are the pics of the rim I decided to do rim pics of all three of my Philly coins that have anomalies to show they are still flat.

They are actually sitting on the edge of the night stand and the edge is slightly beveled.

Keep in mind that most vending machines use quarters today and those exposes the coins to a lot of wear and tear because of the metal on metal contact with the machines. So the rims get affected more.

LOL I knew that coop I only did the rim shots to show that the quarters were still straight and level and not bent (out of round)like altered ( PMD) coins usually are.
