Here is a nice example of a 1997 found in a roll by William Glenn of FL in 2008.

Coop they are quite different as are OP's and Koinpro's. Would one be a well placed chip?

The following link on where to look for doubling on this coin contains images of one of the coins from the discovery hoard of Larry Philbrick 11/97. It is the actual coin that was used to break the story in Coin World.

The one on the right is the correct one. Note the bottom of the lobe? Note how it turns horizontal on the upper ear lobe. The one on the left doesn't. So I feel coin masters coin is not from this die.

So they are both doubled dies, just from different dies?

I'd want to see better images of CoinMasters coin before taking a stab at what it is. It's certainly interesting.

There are two classes of DD for this year, IV, and VIII. Unfortunately I don't understand classes yet. I will get better photos.

It is a combination of the two classes on this one die. So there is only one die with this doubled die.
