I find buying coins on ebay using Paypal credit to be most confusing and bordering on deceptive. I was trying to reconcile my payments with my purchases and I found it daunting. Paypay was no help. There billing is deceptive and I will never use them again. You get these statements that show current balances and then on the same page another balance that is twice as much. I have never had that king of problem with a credit card or loan payment before in my life. There is something fishy about Paypal. An unwary person could end up owing a lot of money and interest and not even know it. I have had it with online coin purchases.

Paypal Credit is no different than a credit card. Yes, you get more time to pay, additional ebay bucks, or other incentives to use it, but I find it's just better not to use it. Regular Credit Card points are better anyway imo.

The credit statement I got from Paypal is so deceptive I could not figure out how much I owed. I only used it because ebay insisted on me using paypay. The monthly statement only listed the charges I had incurred during the current month and not charges from other months. I thought I was paying off the entire balance each month but was not according to paypay. Sleezy and a warning to others.

I've never had a problem with them and their user agreement is pretty straight forward. The only thing I see they need improvement on is with their website. It is sometimes difficult to navigate. The information is there, though. Hopefully, when the PayPal and ebay separation is finalized, they can make some needed changes and make the site more "user friendly".

No credit card I'm aware of lists prior months charges.
I haven't seen their statement, so I can't say for sure, but there are always these items listed:
Balance Forward Plus new charges Less payments Amount Due Minimum Payment

I am 65 years old. I have had credit cards since I was 25 years old. I never felt I was being mislead until I had dealings with Paypay. I paid off a mortgage, many car loans, education loans etc. I never have felt I was being deceived before. I made a complaint to the NYC Better Business Bureau. The charges on my online paypal account does not show balance forward. It only shows new charges less payments and amount due for current month and minimum payment. I don't have a huge balance and I will pay it off if it is correct. I asked for written list of charges and payments so I can do my own accounting. It is a snare to get people to make "interest free" charges and then slam the buyer with those interest charges later down the road.

I'd suggest that you pay off your PayPal Credit account and close it.
Voting with your feet, by closing your account and walking away, sends a strong message to the credit company.

1. ebay does not force you to use a PAYPAL credit card. 2. Just because you are having difficulties using their service does not automatically mean there is anything fraudulent occurring. 3. No one is forcing you to make purchases on credit. I am not understanding why you can't keep track of what you are buying and then compare the total to your paypal credit card bill. If you use ebay/paypal then all of your transactions are available online at all times.

First off you should NEVER use credit to buy coins for a hobby or investment, save your money then pay with cash or ask for a lay by payment. Many Australian dealers offer a lay away payment and I and many of my fellow collectors have taken advantage of this to ease the pain of paying a large sum all at once, NO interest involved here. I imagine that the US dealers would offer the same thing. If you insist on buying with credit I imagine there are far better deals out there than paypal
