Nope. Errors are a whole separate can of worms...

I am hoping to see a good break down of the 1929 small cent low/medium/high 9s!

SPP: So am I.... someday. This is a variety catalogue, very limited in scope - it is not a die study...

Can you simplify this response for us not so intelligent lol? I know the 1929 high 9 is in the Charlton already but there has been some evidence that there are infact different "levels" of high 9. Are these not considered varieties?

Roger,
I will miss not seeing the Die Clashes but I won't miss not seeing Die Deterioration. I've been listing what I feel are decent clashes.

There are a few collectors here (myself included) that have die clashes for almost every small cent from 1937 to mid 2000s...

You provided a list of things you don't consider as varieties. Can you give a short list of things you consider as such? I'm not specialized in small cents, I'm a generalist, but I'll take a look in case I have something that qualifies. If you change your mind about the clashes, I have a few of those :)

Think of intentional (or intentional) changes to the master punch or matrix, or working punches and working dies. Hub doubling (or punch doubling) comes to mind, as well as intentional changes.

One would simply go crazy trying to catalogue every single, double or triple die clash, Machine Doubling elements, Die Deterioration elements, and die cracks in the small cent series...

That's great news, I've been putting off going through my 85 or so rolls of 1928 - 2012

You will have to do "Medium 9" and "High 9", you can't leave that to someone else ;)

Is that like the 1896 Far 6, Far High 6, Far Low 6? Without a proper die study, I think the end members are the ones to be shown. The normal 1929 Low 9 and High (far) 9....
