I know they started making pennies in 1982 mostly out of zince with copper plating, correct? Are there copper 82's and if so, are they common? Thanks. Jeff

Nevermind, just read in my Red Book, there are both kinds of 82's. Thanks. Jeff

In 1982 the Lincoln Cent was made with both copper and zinc. I have heard of a few 1983's found that were copper. Those are the ones to watch for.

Thanks for the info, the 82-D small date copper isn't listed on Coop's diagram. Jeff

Quote: the 82-D small date copper isn't listed on Coop's diagram I know it's not listed, I don't think any have ever been found, that's why it would be so valuable! Like a 1983 or 1943 Copper cent.
