I found this dime going through bank rolls. If you look in the middle part of the photo the 2 layers of the coin are reversed in just the one section of the coin. I took it to a few of my local coin dealers and they all said they have never seen something like that and couldn't really give me any information on it. Looking for input possible value, thanks

Can we see both sides of the coin too, focusing on where the clad layers are reversed?

I will have to send them later I'm at work now. The obverse and reverse both look completely normal though you can only see it from the edge

Just a guess , when the planchet was punched some metal was pushed around. Sort of smearing over the other layer

It doesn't seem to be smeared its completely flat and even

He meant when the blank was cut. Before the upset process that turned it into a planchet and later struck. (forming the reeding on the rim)

I've never seen this before. I would want to see more pictures to be sure. Somehow looks Not Possible. But there it is !

You're probably looking at a tiny disc clip that was erased by the strike except for the characteristic reversal of the asymmetrical exposure of the copper core.
Error coin writer and researcher.

I found a few of these in some change and figured it wasn't a biggie since there was more than one, the more I found the less hopefull I was it was rare, I think I tossed em back.
