I recently found this coin lying around and wondered if its worth anything or if there's anything special about it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to break it to you, but this coin is not silver, just silver plated. The real composition is Bronze. The value is pretty much gone because of this damage, but it would be worth around $4-$5 without any damage.

lovecoins: The "black spots" you see are actually places where the bronze underneath shows through.

Ksammut is correct, sorry. This coin has been painted or plated. Perhaps by someone hoping to fool somebody else into accepting it as a florin or halfcrown.
