May I please have your opinions about this 1819 large cent.

I believe I have it attributed correctly as N-04, with 1st and last stars close to the date. Can you please confirm this?

Thanks!

I can confirm that this is an N-4 which is an R.3. The reverse is considered Die State B because this reverse die was also used on the N-7 die marriage. Flow lines can be seen near the rims.
As far as grade I'll say that this coin exhibits an F-15 detail sharpness but I will have to net grade it to EAC 12 for the rim damage.
The coin has a good honest color and is a scarce variety.

Thank Celticsoul. F12 Is about where I would have graded it too, so we think alike here.
This is a coin that I forgot I had, was happy to find, and had a great time trying to attribute it this morning. Getting better with the Newcomb numbers.

Jeff, for the Newcomb number for cents 1816-1857 I am starting to attribute and learn using the 'idiots' way. I just go to the Heritage archives, and flip through very N number in sequence until I have a hit.
The smart way would be to get a Newcomb book.

Net F15. Weak strike on the reverse.

F15 beautiful coin/color. I'm trying to keep up with the forum, but not easy in summer. Way too much to do.
