I know all hobbies require time, money and travel. Ours though does not require so much money upfront. But you will have to invest some driving time to get from place to place for pickups and dumps. On average how many miles per week are dedicated to CRH?

I for the most part during the week about 10 miles. On weekends sometimes 20. I would say I average about 20 miles a week.

I've driven far more miles than that in a week. I have a lot of banks in my area, but they rarely get good coins. I only have one day off a week during bank hours, and can do a week's worth of hunting in that day. I've gone over a hundred miles sometimes. I try big cities and small towns alike, but have never found a pattern.

I like to CRH when I go out of town on trips. However, I'm usually with the wife and kids, so I can't do much. I sometimes go back a few days later. I pretty much stopped hunting when gas prices went up and silver prices went down. Soon after, I had a lot of car problems and even had to get my engine rebuilt! It was at least two years before I really got back into it.

Since then, I've noticed a lot of banks have closed, or cut hours. Many of them, even big corporate banks, only have one or two tellers at a time. May be that will make it easier to hunt coins in the future, but I don't know.

6 miles round trip to pick up every 8-10 weeks (10 boxes cents). My dump bank is on the way to the big city so I wait and dump two boxes when I go to the city so no extra mileage to dump .

This is a very good question, as I am everyday going to banks, and on Saturday and sunday I do the most driving. I would imagine its about 100 a week maybe more, but on the weekend I can get to 25 or so banks on Saturday and about 10 on sunday.

I haven't paid too much attention to how many miles I have driven any given week. But now I will pay much closer attention to how much I drive. I may not want to know the real numbers and how much extra money I am paying at the pump due to my hobby. I think it will be cheaper to buy silver at cost. But its so much fun hunting though and its a hobby of course.

for me I consider 1 tank a gas a week is what I allot myself, so as long as this remains the same I am good (this is for all my driving including commuting to work). Being in Canada the gas is really pricey ( about $5 a gallon for the USA members or $1.31 a litre) I do cross the border and buy the majority of my gas in the USA so I don't feel it so much.

I would have to say on average it would be 20 miles a week out of my way picking up and dumping many times each week. I try to hit up banks that are somewhat on my way home from work but so as not to wear out my welcome at dump banks I have had to go 20 miles round trip at least once a month to dump at one branch.
