Today I decided to give a second try to coin roll hunting. Last time I found 3 1964 quarters from the 10 rolls I got. Now I made a round trip around where I live and got some rolls of different coins. At one of the banks I asked if they had an unusual coin and they traded me a 1980 dollar coin which I'm happy about I'll post my good finds later.

Can't really figure out how to upload pictures. It keeps telling me the size is too big. I used the free picture editor thing on the rolls and I made it to work by mistake

This depends on what interests you. Some folks look for LWC and IHC cents (click on the abbreviation to learn our lingo here). Some folks like me look for those and a few other things: Error coins Variety Coins Foreign Coins High Grade Coins Counter-stamped Coins Any cent that attracts you only costs you a cent to set aside. Visit a few sites dedicated to Lincoln cents such as: Lincoln Cent Resource Coppercoins Variety Vista Cuds on Coins Traildies Maddieclashes Coins and Canada Wexler's Coins Ken Potters Error and Variety Coin list There are many others. Have some fun reading and learning about your hobby! And ask us questions here at CCF - many bright folks ready to assist!

in 1982 the mint changed from a mostly copper cent to a cent comprised of zinc plated in copper. So part of the 1982 cents are mostly copper, part are mostly zinc. Weighing them is the best method that I have used. Look at the CCF Lincoln Memorial cent page for specifics.

HT - it's up to you. Copper hoarders keep their copper cents culled out during a CRH event. I do not mainly because it would take up space and despite the melt value being more than a cent, you can't collect melt value. However, copper cents will be worth more to collectors in a few decades that could make it modestly profitable.
You'll get varied opinions here, but I'd cash in the coppers with the zincs for more coin to search. Keep the high grade coins, copper or zinc, as they'll appreciate in value better.

My penny rolls are: 4 wheat pennies 3 Canadian coins A couple of the 2009 coins with the picture on the back Didn't think I would find anything good in the penny rolls. The 4 wheat were in the last 2 rolls
