I needed a decent Capped Bust Half Dime for my type set and this one looked better than average. How would you call the grade?

There is definitely wear on the front of the cap and the curls. On the reverse it looks like only the high feathers have wear, but there are a couple of nasty scratches. I'm trying to imagine it life sized in hand and I just can't get there - they will either fade out and I'd go XF45 or they're going to knock it to details.

I'm going AU50 on this one. The strike is quite good for a Half Dime and the ICG holder won't hurt a bit once it's cracked out.

EF40, but AU50 wouldn't surprise me a bit from ICG.

ICG called it AU-50 which I think is fine for detail level. Luster is perhaps a bit weak which could be from over-dipping. In-hand there are no serious scratches or marks. Overall it's a presentable type coin that was reasonably priced.

I would grade it XF 45 in my collection. I'm not the best at judging these types of things, but I do think it probably has an old cleaning on it. Even if it does, it has plenty of eye appeal and I would be happy to have it in my collection. Nice snag!

Using Photograde, I started in the AU range and worked down the grading scale.

I was in the AU-50 to 53 range for this before I saw you had posted the ICG grade.
