I got this at a thrift store. And its hard to make out on the back of the photo I'm sure. But I know it does say journalism any idea on when and where it came from?

With no date or location engraving, very difficult to identify. Are there any edge stampings?

Looks to appear the type of a design used in the last half of the 1900's. Medal quality is very nice and appears to be bronze.

Probably given as an achievement award in high school would be my best guess.

Looks to be a cheap medal they pass out at a school function. A real medal or award generally has better engraving on it and the name of the award most times on the front of said medal. Besides it appears down the bottom front it is a copyright icon along with 89 and something that isn't clear between them. the medal itself looks to be generic type that anything can be engraved on it probably sold by an awards or trophy shop and engraved to order. IT is been to many years since I stopped getting the sign painting magazines to remember the name of the company that was wholesaling dozens of styles of awards medals.
