Wondering what everyone's thoughts are on a grade for my 1928-P Peace dollar. I've been comparing ot PCGS Photograde. Would love your thoughts. thank you!

Lovely example with very little wear. AU50-53 here, but it makes a good visual case for 55. It's a looker.

Thanks SsuperDdave and Denco7.. This was the culmination of my LCS trip with my father and I really took everyone's advice to heart. I must have visited at least 100 tables that were there and I looked at more 1928-P Peace dollars than I thought I'd see. This one stood out and the dealer was very negotiable and I got it at a very fair price. Was really thrilled after getting it home. Now my Peace dollar collection is complete, got the 1921 about two months ago and the 28-P Saturday... All smiles here..

AU50 or AU53 as there is a little wear above the forehead and on the upper eagle wing. A nice looking key date coin.

Is there any luster left? The images show a near mint state coin without luster which indicates an over-dipped coin. It certainly has AU+ detail with minimal contact marks and would be worth many hundreds of dollars with strong luster.

There is quite a bit of luster. Just not a very good set of pictures. I was rushing to post them. I need to sit down and take some better shots of the coin. So yes, there is luster. The reverse is really amazing especially.

Luster aside, and assuming no cleaning, it certainly is a great strike and shows details of 53-55. Nice coin.
