Hello - any good recommendations of websites to buy Canadian coins here in the US? I am interested in getting some pennies and pre 1982 nickels in bulk. So far I can only get them from CRH or ebay. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

I had seen a few adds on Craigs list, I know there's good and bad things said about dealing there. There was a gentlemen in FLA with quite a bit of coin to sell, including a good lot of silver back to 1858. I do know it wasn't that fellow that grades coins in his basement. I talked with him for a bit and he used to live here in Ontario. I'm sure the add could be easily found, he had it listed as Canadian Coins F/S.

once you have enough posts, you could put up a want list, and say that you want to buy bulk copper cents as nickels. I know there are many Canadians on this forum who could help you out, me included. however shipping is another issue, bulk coinage is heavy and shipping may eat any profits for you.

Try pawn shops. I picked up a bag of 80% dimes a few weeks ago for a few bucks under melt. Searching those now for die verities.

Try this auction in Balto: https://alexcooper.hibid.com/catalo...medium=email

Whoops. I posted the wrong auction. This one was for US bulk. I can't find the Canada one.

Thanks everyone! Nothing on Craig's list near me but def worth keeping an eye on! I never thought about posting a want list here. I'm not looking to make a quick buck.. I'm actually just wanting to add to my collection that I'll someday give to my kids. I probably have to buy from within the U.S. Since the flat rate priority boxes could be used. I'd have to think mailing from Canada would be very high!

sa330206: Getting it directly from Canada will definetly cost a whole lot to ship...

Be as resourceful as possible, but if all else fails, feel free to message me. I have family and friends in the states and I frequently travel south because of the sport I coach.

If you can't find anything down south.. I will be happy to look and see what can be found up here and let you know.

I have had luck buying them at my local coin shops. I usually pay between 80% to 100% of face and have to sort the copper and nickel out. Last time I bought them I got an AU 1938 nickel.

Hey, sa330206.. we have 50 rolls of pre 1982 Canadian nickels that you can have but, the only problem... it would cost you $100 for postage plus the nickels...
