Poll Question
Seems like ANACS how has a deal with HSN to slab and sell their coins.

I tried to do search on their population reports to see how many MS70/PF70's they've slabbed for silver dollars in the past 11 years and it seems like all of their populations reports for all coins are down.

So, does this change your view on ANACS now that they're part of HSN?

I don't think PCGS or NGC have. Now that I think about it, NGC might have before. HSN was selling a lot of ICG MS/PF70 coins for more money than they were worth. The people who bought it find out that it's worth a fraction of what they paid, they will probably shy away from ICG because HSN left a bad taste in their mouth. I think a lot of collectors shy away from ICG because of their connection with HSN. I think with there new contract with HSN, I wouldn't be able to trust their opinion on grading modern coinage. Their contract with HSN has to have some sort of minimum number of certain grade coins in order to sell enough to make it worth if for HSN. Personally in my eyes, ANACS went down a few points in my book. They also went down a few points with th. is first strike business and these different labels with colors and pictures.

I find it interesting that in the Item description, title ,or anywhere for that matter that Anacs is not mentioned ,, I would think if they are in Business with HSN that their name would at least appear somewhere besides on the slab ?

These coins may not have been supplied so much by anacs directly but from another source or were purchased for resale or were simply submitted for grading by HSN .

Anacs is a business with wages to pay and an overhead to be met.

at least these coins have a grade ,,that alone beats NGC and their BU slabbed ASE's !

Im not sure that the gun is not being jumped here just a little?

NGC certainly has some kind of deal with the "Coin Vault" show on ShopAtHome. They will occasionally sell PCGS and Anacs graded coins, but the vast majority they sell are raw or NGC graded. The hosts even talk about their "special deal" with NGC ... although they suggest it is just a deal for speed and reduced price for grading a large quantity. Still, the relationship is clearly there.

I feel as long as they grade them correctly it doesn't matter who sells the coins after they are graded, but if they start doing like PCGS & NGC does with their BIG customers and popular collections and give them a point or two on each coin then I will consider it a problem
