Just got a new Dansco Lincoln Cent album and noticed there are three unmarked (blank) holes following 1958-D. What's the reason or purpose?

Dansco mass produces the cent pages. It would cost more money to set up a special run for the final page of the album instead of just using the same pages already used.

Correct, just a product of the number of coins not being evenly divisible by the number of holes per page.

I always find extras to fill the holes. Many will include varieties not included in the labeled holes.

Since it was answered, I will offer an opinion of what to do with the holes. I put mint tokens in them, with a P, D and the treasury seal showing forward. It bothers me to have holes so this helps fill them. I put a blank planchet in the 1922 no D spot too. No holes for me!

I love unmarked holes haha. If nothing else you can just continue the series or put all reverses. Or my current favorite putting stamped Lincoln's in it. I'm getting a sizable collection of Lincoln mason pennies.

May I suggest filling it with a blank planchet?

I do what skyshark does. There are people who break mint sets open and these are left over. I have bought a couple on ebay and a CCF'er sent me a few as well.

Thedollarman, That's what I plan to do. Or a blank or each type of planchet copper and zinc.

Thanks for all the replies. Figured someone knew the answer. Since there are three blank slots, I'm thinking perhaps showing the three main reverses (wheat, memorial, and shield).

One of my biggest complaints about Dansco. Most of their Albums are like that. Some have a real lot of those blanks at the end. Not sure but I think they are the only ones that do that.
Rest in Peace
