I've not been able to ID this one but I've only got an old 2004 krause book to look through. Can anyone ID this for me please?

Cheers, Bill

It's not a coin, but a token of some kind. Presumably modern, some kind of arcade or turnstile token would be my guess.

I should know better then to not supply the size and weight my apology. The token is very similar to the size and weight of a 1 cent coin. It weighs 3.3 grams and is 19.4 mm in diameter, I believe it's made of brass. Thank's to all for the replies, now I know where to search in hopes of finding more information.

Cheers, Bill

The weight and dia are close enough for machine purposes in the early 70s to be one new penny, and if you look at the very pretty example Petrus shows you'll see that it's marked 1 NP.

I asked an expert -

Quote:
The 'R' token is an unknown user/maker. There are actually three sizes all identical - Hayes 315.1 20mm; 315.2 23mm; 315.3 25mm. all in brass and the reverse is a series of wishbones in a ring. this reverse is used with many other unrelated pieces.

The help and guidance from all is greatly appreciated, I've had this for about ten years and it's nice to finally know what it is.
