So, while CRH about 4 months back I stumbled upon this. I was wondering the value of this piece, and how to maybe "clean up" some of the stuff on the coin. Thanks!

I don't think you "can" clean it up. As to value,IMHO not much. Check ebay sold for values.

You could try using Acetone to clean it. Soak it over night and see what happens. Acetone evaporates quickly, so cover the container and keep it in a safe place, it's flammable too!

Judging current picks Id say carbon spots that normally don't go away.

Try an acetone soak though, but don't get your hopes up. If organic, grease or dirt will help remove. If carbon spot(s) or corrosion will not improve it.

If sure it's zincoln date from 1982 - 1992. Close up reverse could narrow it down maybe. That said a close up of the obverse may show something though or under the spot. Thanks, Doug.

If it is a stain on the plating, then it probably will not come off. Best to leave it alone. I always ask myself: "Would I buy that coin?" when looking at saving a coin. If not, then I may release it. Most collectors want to purchase the best coin possible. New collectors might not be as picky, but with knowledge comes the desire for the best.
