The National Trust for Historic Preservation has put the Old Mint in San Francisco on the list of the most endangered historic places.

According to the Trust, the property is being described as "neglected".

Are tours still taking place there?

While I was on a trip to San Fran about five years ago I remember seeing some sort of effort to renovate the building. Perhaps those efforts fell through?

They did. The building is owned by the City and a group (San Francisco Mint Museum and Historical Society) was given the chance to renovate and raise funds for the restoration. They had several events there (including a few coin shows) but were unable to raise the funds on the required timeline and the City took it back from them in March of this year.

AND if that movie about the Earth quakes ever come true, you may not see that Mint in the future.

For the last several years there was an annual coin show in the Mint, in February, which also conducted a tour of the building. I see on the show promoters' web site there is not one scheduled for next year.
