Why Is This "1914 D Cent" The Color Of Steel?

Besides the color, which could have many environmental causes, what makes you so sure it's fake? The Mercury dime is a definite fake; the portrait details are way off compared to a genuine example. There have been a bunch of fake early S, 22 "p" and 31 S cents showing up recently all from the same reverse die. This 14 D is also from that same reverse. Note the lump on the left wheat sheath just above the U in UNITED The image is copied from the auction so when the auction goes the image will most likely as well. Report this Post to the Staff
