Is there a "doubled lesf" variety in this date,(1942)? I see a photo of one that shows a possible extra "leaf", just to the south of the maim device. Is it real, or maybe a stain?

I have found doubling on many cents of this era. Most are only Machine Doubling.

I sent Topher an email, with a photo of one, on ebay. I figured he might be able to tell me more about it.

Looks like a die chip to me, albeit in a convenient location. It does almost look like a third leaf hiding behind that one. Shipping charges are outrageous for that auction, though.

I thought that might be the case. The S&H charges are way out of sight, I agree. Any idea as to how they arrive at those charges? I have never sold on ebay, and never will. Too much hassle!
