Can anyone tell me if it is feasable to exchange "box-for-box", the Canadian, and US cents? I know there is a small difference in value, but, that aside, what do the collectors in Canada do for US cents, ( if you don't live on, or near the border)? I would like to swap a box, or two, as they come from the bank. There are times when a box will be solid BU date, (usually at the first part of the year), but mostly are circulated. BU would be nice, but circulated gives one a bigger opportunity to find "Goodies". I assume there is a "flat-rate shipping charge, that applies in either country. I am going this way, because the 1800+ cents are not available, any longer. Thanks.

Dick, I can only imagine what it costs to ship a box of cents. Plus, I've found, at least around here (Toronto), that about 10% (give or take a few) are US cents anyway. Also, due to the new US laws, you are only allowed to export up to $25 in cents for "numismatic purposes", but you may run into trouble trying to ship them if you have a less knowledgeable postal employee.

Thanks for the reply, Topher.I could check what "flat-rate" charges would be for the US portion, but Across the border, brings in a whole new world, as they say. If I lived close to the border, it would be no problem. As far as the limit, the box is $25.00, so no arguement. Now if someone on thes side would cross, and bring back a box of cents, the exchange, here would be easy. Any one in Vancouver, or someplace like that? It would be easy if half a box were sent. The idea is I want some Canadian cents! I'm sure there will be someone, who hears all the :"ruckus", and suggest a way. Hint, hint. Thanks, at any rate,
Dick

I think a box can be sent in a flat rate priority box from USPS. I'd be willing to send you a box, but I haven't been back to the US in 6 months, even though I only live 2 hours from the border.

Topher, Good morning, I read your post, and was thinking it would be more cinvenient if simeone was closer. The idea is fine, but that is a LOT of traveling, 4 hrs., round-trip! Maybe some one else is closer. There is no hurry, so don't "hitch up the dogs, just yet"!

I'll let you know if I do head down. I've been meaning to hit one of the coin shows in the Buffalo area one of these days, as they have more than we do up here in Toronto. If I do, we can talk.
