Only (2) problems with this listing:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/33158856234...RK:MEBIDX:IT

1. The coin is not a Draped Bust cent
2. It is a Draped Bust half dollar, but, its is also a counterfeit

It's actually a Draped Bust Dollar not a half so the obverse actually looks similar to authentic coins. You can see "DRED" on the edge lettering. The edge lettering looks similar to the real lettering, but seems a little more sloppy. Also, I notice the wear is off from a normal coin. Other than this, what is the key thing that stands out that makes this fake? This is the first fake Bust Dollar that I have seen that had edge lettering.

Good of you to notice the edge lettering, bakerskyline8.
There were only two obverse dies used in the production of original 1801 Draped Bust dollars. We can eliminate Obverse 2, on which the tip of the first 1 touches the lowest curl of Liberty's hair. This is the date of Obverse 1:

1801-Draped-Bust-Cent
Notice how very flat the tops of the 1's are.

Here is the date on the ebay coin:
1801-Draped-Bust-Cent
Notice the blob at the top of the first 1. Some kind of post-mint damage? Or a characteristic shared by this offering from the notorious Jinghuashei counterfeit mill?

Some people need to use all that extra money they have to buy themselves some common sense and maybe some books on the numismatics so they can atleast make an informed stupid decision on how to waste their money.
