to CCF. It would be fruitless to speculate on without images of what you have. Most likely circulation has caused it to wear away. It could be due polishing as well, as seen on the coin in this thread.

like CopperCastle points out , probably worn away do to wear. however if you have a gem bu without the VDB then lets talk !

Oldz - Welcome to CCF! Might want to post that one in the error section for modern coins, but honestly looks like a VLDS to me with severe brain damage (die cracks)

Very faint mark where VDB should be. Heavy lettering, doubling, die cracks, Die Cud, tiger striped grease marks.. Just very different...
