I have a 1935 Wheat penny which has a 9 struck on the back. Does anyone have any information on this coin and a possible value? Thanks

I think it looks more like it was punched with a nail or shot, PMD. See what others say.

Echo echo echo....
With the alteration it may not possess much (any) numismatic value. Maybe only worth the cent it is.

i think what others are trying to say is that it was damaged after the mint, which I agree with. the 9 isn't really a 9, it just looks like a 9. it wasn't done intentionally, but the way the metal was pushed up makes it look like a 9

To me, it looks like someone shot it with a BB Gun. As mcanniz stated the metal pushed out from the force and just resembles a 9.

Not the correct millimeter for a BB. I paintball more but you see BBs out on the feild,a and the small ones are larger than the indent.

to the Forum, it looks more like a 5 or S to me. Either way though, I'm afraid it's PSD (Post Strike Damage).
