Keep in mind that the devices are wider on that year. Compare it with other examples from that year to see if this is normal or not?

I am unsure of the type of photographic equipment you currently have but USB cameras are an option to consider since they are simple, adjustable, and inexpensive.

You can pick them up for between $30 - $ 45 and obtain 'very' clear close-ups as shown in this thread:
