Hi there, I was searched my sisters saved coins and came across this 1985D Jefferson nickel. The reverse is also very shiny, I'm thinking Brockage? or Capped Die ? As you can see, some of the lettering is completely gone so I don't think it is PMD. Sure would appreciate some experts to come out and play. Thanks
Simply a damaged coin. A lamination would not look like this either. For coins like this you have to ask, how couldn't this have happened at the mint, rather than how did it happen.
