Hello y'all, I've collected coins for years but recently really started ramping up what I have. I'm also more into quantity than quality. I've got 9 Morgans, around 180 Buffalo nickels (heavier towards dateless, of which I'm going to acid date). I've got a variety of English coins, 1686 threepence, 1689 Gunmoney Shilling, 1700 half-penny, 1700s george ii halfpenny, a small handful of Victorian pennies, george v, and vi. Queen Victoria Crown, Queen Victoria Crown. Big handful of wheats, etc. Anyways, a few days ago came up this massive coin collection of indian head pennies and a small handful of Liberty nickels. I got it yesterday and have around 160ish Indian cents, and the rest are Liberty nickels with one Shield nickel for a total of 171 coins. The guy who sold these found them in a house he was cleaning out. Unfortunately almost all of the coins are damaged in some way, and it beats me what they did with them back then. Gouged, bent, corroded, etc.

to the forums! Sounds like you have a pretty interesting collection going on. I hope you can find some varieties in the scratch and dent lot that are worth a few bucks still!

Welcome to the forum.
Personally, I'd rather have worn coins than damaged ones, but hopefully you got some that are decent.

Not bad, from what I can tell it looks like a lot of common dates although I do see a IHC with the reverse of the 1859 Cents, so you have one of those. Most of the coins look badly damaged and corroded.

I also noticed the 1859 cent. This looks like a fun starter lot and I look forward to seeing a break down of the dates that were included.

Thats interesting, I don't know enough about types with Indian heads, but I didn't see any dates that were 1859-1860s... but there were multiples that were missing the dates due to damage. I'll have to see what the difference is and see if I can spot them. I also have an 1863 or 1864 Indian cent from another purchase but the upper half is squashed. I didn't notice any 1877s though.
