The general pattern with a 'hot' coin like these is interest peaks after it sells out and then fades away over the years. The RCM tends to hasten this process along these days by over-issuing on a successful theme. IE, noticed more Superman coins coming out in 2014? The only coins I've seen any slight signs of appreciation on the last couple of years other this initial 'bump' are old, high grade circulation coins. Just my opinion.

to CCF Will agree with Kuh_85 about: Quote: The general pattern with a 'hot' coin like these is interest peaks after it sells out and then fades away over the years Currently, only some of them (Superman), from 2013 have appreciation: 2013 Gold coin - jumped high and probably will hold it. and the silvers ones below somehow appreciated (at least haven't been offered directly for issue): 2013 The Shield 2013 Metropolis 2013 Man of Steel

Quote: what is the concensus on the potential appreciation of Superman silver coins from RCM Sad to say but "None" maybe the 2013 silvers coin "might" hold their value with possible small increase in value on a few of them but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Quote: So what if any might be good investments from the RCM I honestly dont think there are any "good" "investments" from the RCM anymore , but they do have excellent coins for the most part. Buy them because you like them, just not for an "investment". That said no one knows what the future holds, a coin sold today could be a big hit and increase in value at some point but the chances are quite low with the flood of coins from the RCM and many other mints around the world now.

As I said, the only coins that MIGHT be showing some signs of appreciation are old, high grade circulation coins. Modern NCLT.... well, you might as well buy lottery tickets as investments... That being said, I own almost all of them because I like them. And I suspect a touch of OCD. But as of 2015 I'm only still buying ones that are continuation of series I really like. The last couple of years almost all have been available from dealers dumping their remaining stock at clearance prices within a year. And yes, I've even seen 2013 Superman silvers going for below issue price already.

Quote: So what if any might be good investments from the RCM Nothing, from NCLT part. They almost purely for collection (you can learn and enjoy a lot, while collecting) and not investment, while some coins rarely have found appreciation with the time. For the short time gain, you might try "buy and quick resell" tactics, and be ready for initial (and not small) loss, till you will learn, what worth reselling. And for investment in coins - safest, but not the best, way - buy bullion, as much as possible closer to spot.

Quote: So what if any might be good investments from the RCM "Investments" and " RCM" in the same sentence are oxymorons. There is no such thing. True, there are exceptions to the rule like the Glass Ladybug coin, the 5 coin penny set, and 2013 Gold Superman coin but they are few and far between. Buy the coins you like and put the rest in GICs, stocks, or mutual funds if you want to make money.

I do think thought that Superman has a better chance than others. This is a real collecting subject as compared to animals of Canada etc. Superman is huge in the USA along with most superhero stuff

If you like the theme, and you have some spare money to spend, yes, why not. The 2015 silver coins available everywhere, even on PO displays, so you can grab them and see, what they will worth after several years....everything could happen. Same about 2014.
2013 coins - different story. Sure you can hunt them somewhere for issue, but usual trend for them - $20-$30 above....
So returning to the beginning - yes, buy them if you like and you have budget. Do not expect much for the possible returns.
