Hey guys and gals, can you all take a look at this one, 1874H 25 cent? Please, someone with clout report this, if the majority/expert agree this is a fake?

In my humble opinion it is a fake.

Thanks and opinions welcomed.

Why do you think it's a fake?

It's not fake.
I'm curious to know why the OP would suggest it is. Accusing someone of selling a counterfeit coin is a serious matter. If you're not positive the coin is fake it's better to ask for opinions first before asking for help reporting the coin. Put yourself in the seller's shoes, how would you feel if you were falsely accused of selling fakes?

@DBM To be fair, that's kind of/sort of what the OP did by posting here.

Thanks kuh_85, yes I did ask for a community opinion as the Pillars of the Community are more experience than I am. To answer your question DBM both stems are clean broken which is a consistent indicator from the 2015 Charleton guide, though the guide does not list a 1874H chinese fake. In my experience so far, a stem break would at minimum leave traces of the stem around, displaying the outline of the original stamping, unless there was a die break somewhere? Opinions on this, please? The C looks close to being closed, but that can be subjective depending on the angle of the photo. If this is not the case and the majority here says it is not a fake. Then so shall it be.

Looks real. Not likely anyone would counterfiet a 1874H. But I do think if your ever in doubt this is what this forum is for. Better to get the opinions of other CCF members before purchasing if you think it maybe fake.
