Some history...

Quote:
The team made history by winning the 1966 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament in 1966, becoming the first team with an all-black starting line-up to win an NCAA basketball national championship; a feat that was not considered likely by many.

I'm going to say no to this commemorative.

The NCAA can fund the renovations to its hall of fame on its own. The organization rakes in billions some of which could be funneled to this project.

I knew that once the Baseball Hall of Fame got a commemorative coin that it wouldn't be long before other sports groups started pursuing their own commemorative programs.

While the team broke a barrier at the time, I doubt many people would recognize this today or even care about this milestone.

The Civil Rights commemorative in 2014 marked a major milestone in American history yet it failed to produce surcharges.

Any fool... well any fool elected to Congress so there's about 535 of 'em to choose from... can INTRODUCE a bill.

Getting it passed into law takes a little more.

But shure as shooting, el congress critter can claim to the folks back home he was tryin' his best to get this event memorialized.

Who, what, where now?

In the olden days if you looked up "Texas Western College National Collegiate Athletic Association men's basketball championship" in your families or local libraries set of Encyclopedias Britannica you would still be scratching your head.

In today's interweb digital age you can find a little more information on the topic.

And likewise you can Google something along the lines of how much money does the NCAA make off of student atheletes that get zero 0 monetary compensation.

This has all of the markings of the original silver half commems programs sponsors going for the money grab combined with the repeated failed modern issues which did not make payout because of the sponsors.
