I am sure that some of them are. I think that some people go there with metal detectors to try and find some that are still down there. Supposedly, the sheets of material he bought to punch his planchets were so close to being the correct composition that all of it was given to the mint who melted them down to tweek and reuse for official coinage. Coinfrog Bedrock of the Community United States 94367 Posts	Posted 07/14/2015 3:45 pm I seem to recall reading that he dumped some 200,000 into the Schuykill alone, and that less than 15,000 of those were recovered. I can only think that they all must have been destroyed. Many others were dumped into a river in NJ. No doubt many of them are still there, long sunk in the mud. Report this Post to the Staff
