The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge welcomed their first child, George Alexander Louis, into the world on 22 July 2013. The little Prince has quickly captured the hearts of people everywhere; each public appearance or piece of news generates huge interest around the world. The coins celebrating the arrival of this new Royal baby sold out within days, such was the demand from the British public and Royal enthusiasts far and wide.

Now you can share in the joy of George's second birthday celebrations with this magnificent St George and the dragon themed silver Proof £5 coin. Christopher Le Brun's beautiful reverse is paired with the new fifth coinage portrait of The Queen, as we look ahead to a happy Royal future. Each coin comes complete with a fascinating booklet revealing more about England's patron saint and the tradition of the name George, so important in British life.

As Prince George celebrates his second birthday surrounded by family and friends, you can share in the joy of his proud parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Interest in the young Prince is already so high, as the demand for any coin issued in his honour has proved.

Third in line to the throne, Prince George shares his name with The Queen's father George VI, a name associated with stability and unity, and one that continues a proud British tradition. It's only fitting that we mark the occasion of Prince George's birthday with this magnificent contemporary portrait of St George, England's patron saint and namesake of a little boy that has charmed the world.
