Well, I don't see Jbuck going on a murderous rampage, so he must have got his set!

I got to the final check out phase but the website crashing.... so after many reload, the product went "unavailable" :(.
I will keep check back and try my luck the next few days.

NOW, Here's my rant: Most people on here predicted that the set will last at least 1hr. When I said less than 30 mins, some of you thought that is impossible....
I am sure no one expected it to be sold out in 10 mins. I personally think it will take at least 15 mins (because of the reduced HH limit).

There are three factors for this new record sold out:
1) Ike was on the $1 large coin and many collecting them + He's also on the commemorative dollar + the 5* Generals.
2) Aftermarket price appreciation of the Truman set
3) The majority of collectors are in their late 50s and 60s so Ike is very familiar to them (not as much as Kennedy though).

At 2 per HH, there are less than 9K orders. What were we thinking?

I retract what I said about these selling for $300. It will be $400.

It will be interesting to watch...ignore prices for the 1st couple of weeks as they will be stupid...

The dealers got their share and if they flood the market I can see these ending up a bit over the Truman (last sale just under $200)...probably in the $250-275 range..

Kennedy will be even more interesting (price wise) to watch...and definitely depends on whether they keep it at 2 per. More sets but maybe more interest because of the previous 2 (and Kennedy)...I can't see those breaching $150
though

Just for shots and giggles....I saw an empty Truman package with just the stamp sell for $20 yesterday

The empty Truman sale was probably to someone that bought slabbed coins and wanted the rest of the material.

What is happening RIGHT NOW is that there are a couple buyers getting any sealed boxes they can for a huge HSN order. They don't care what they pay. Price will shoot up and stay.

wouldn't it have sensitive information, like your invoice from the mint?

Yup, it has your address and order number on the invoice...but...if someone is sending you cash or using PayPal they would have that info anyway

Another update: checked my credit card and debit at my banking website. Credit card had no authorizations or charges (which the CSR at the Mint stated she saw that the Mint had no authorization or hold on funds there) which was odd, but the debit card had a hold for the total amount of the two sets and shipping.

I think I stand alone on that prediction

FYI....a month ago I also put $20 on the Red Sox to win the American League

After countless "reloads" and glitches my order placed right at the last secounds of 12:08 is 034488XX

I had big time problems. I thought for sure I wasn't going to get this one, but managed to finally get my order in, probably at the last second, literally. My order is 034508**. It shows "processing" and my debit card shows the pending charge. But, until I see it in my mailbox, well, you know.

BTW, if anyone is wondering whether it's the shipping or billing address that is used to determine HH limits, it's BOTH.
