I was given a Dansco ASE album a few weeks ago, so I started filling it up. I have one complete, but with the price of silver down another one would be nice. My first pass with the coins I had at home filled 10 holes. I have been buying coins from a large local collection, so I checked what dates they had .. and filled 17 more holes. The better reason for this post .. coming next

While looking through a bunch of ASE,s I noticed these. I told the .. owner that these were different. They showed me where these coins came from. They said they broke them out of the sets .. and took the small dollars to the bank. So what these turned out to be are six 2008 and one 2012 burnished silver eagles. The 2012 I have seen trade for $100, when it is still in the OGP. What to watch for is Burnished coins have the "W" mint mark.

Not sure what the burnished ASE would sell for, outside the OGP. But buying seven of them for regular bullion ASE price ... I could not pass up

Of course I guess I could have them slabbed .. that might be a good way to sell them .. well .. when I start selling. Then I would wonder .. if the price of slabbing .. would increase the value. Guess I will have to do some research on that one.

According to Coin Values the 2008 W Burnished and 2012 W Burnished in MS 70 are going for 100 bucks. In MS 69 they go for 75.

Nice collection....I assume they are all bullion ASE's in the Dansco AND you got your '96 in there Re: the W's (burnished)...they presently sell (in OGP) for between $25-35. NGC brown label 70's go for $60-65 and the 69's for around $50 I've got a bunch of those 2008 dollar sets (around 20) but would never break them up...they just look great. (presently sell for $45-70). I have bought them from the Mint every year they were available.
