So today I went to the Durham Museum in Omaha, Nebraska. It is a wonderful place, and the museum is in the old Union Pacific station. The station is truly beautiful, and it was build in 1931. I went there today mainly to see the Byron Reed coin collection. I knew there was a coin collection there, but last time I went there (about a year ago) I has just started coin collecting and most of the stuff was boring to me. So today was a real treat. I spent most of my time in the Byron Reed collection area, a good 45 min. Most of it was spent drooling at the 1804 dollar, confederate cent, and a stunning proof 1868 pattern for a cent. Lets take a look at some of the 50+ Photos I took (I took 163 in all, after deleting I had 56)! I'll upload more photos later today and tomorrow!

A half union pattern!

I could only imagine what that would have cost!

E: just checked it online, and apparently there are only two known, both held by the Smithsonian? Is this one a reproduction?

According to my knowledge, only two have been made in gold. There are various others made with different kinds of metal.

Anyway, looked like an interesting trip! If I ever make it to Omaha, Nebraska, I know what I'll be doing!
