It looks like the metal was bent over then stamped into the nickel when minted.

Need a better pic but it may be a stuck through coin. Better pic please.

Better pics definitely would help looks pretty interesting but hard to make out( only from this pic I'm starting to think it's post mint because how it looks near the rim and into WE)

The sliver of metal stamped into the coin can be seen running over the dome area.

Try a magnifier in front of the lens for a closeup without zooming in , also a shot of the front of the coin.

Slamnbass , the part I like is the rim in conjunction with the dome. The inner part of the rim is affected but not the out and the dome showes a bit in the anomaly with seemingly no distortion outside of the anomaly. ... Better Pics !

No matter how big I make those pictures I just can't tell. As has been mentioned we need better photos.

Yeaa I do see where your talking about stone-it's just too hard to make out but where the metal is laying over the W if the metal is as raised as it looks and I see a hint of the W sticking out I think than that metal would of been much more flattened there

Hmmm I was thinking the anomaly was recessed to the point it passes over the dome.
