My first addition to put into a notebook I want to make of the different varieties and PSD that I find. Unless I have one in hand instead of a picture it is much easier for me to figure out what I have. Thanks for the diagnosis. Does this make you a numismatic diagnostician?

If it looks in hand as it does in the last pic. I say nice struck through error. The first two pics were misleading. Wonder if its a magnetic piece of iron still embedded or nickel scrap? Try to keep together what ever it is. Thanks, Doug.

Meant to add this is not a variety nor PSD (post strike damage) but unless I miss my mark its a rock solid mint error.

Very interesting struck through. From the look of the retained piece it may have been a piece of clad stock struck into the nickel. Very Very nice error
Rest in Peace
